Haritaki is called the "king of medicines" in Tibet and is usually listed first in Ayurvedic Materia
Medicas because of its extraordinary powers of healing. In Ayurveda it is considered to destroy all
diseases and eliminate all wastes (toxins or Ama) from the body. Haritaki is one of the three ingredients in the Ayurvedic super formula Triphala. Supporting the body's natural cleansing process, it gently removes accumulated natural toxins in the gastrointestinal tract. As a rejuvenator , it strengthens and nourishes the tissues and supports the proper function of the colon, lungs, liver and spleen. Haritaki is traditionally used as a remedy for all vata-related imbalances. It maintains regular elimination, helps promote healthy body mass, and supports comfortable and complete digestion.
